Learn about Microdosify

Microdosify is derived from the term “Microdosing”, a practice that involves consuming small, sub-hallucinogenic amounts of psychedelics.

Microdosing can impact mood, cognition, creativity, and mental resilience. The psilocybin in our magic mushrooms has a strong affinity with a particular type of serotonin receptor, called the 5-HT2A. In simple terms, psilocybin resembles serotonin closely enough that it attaches to this receptor and activates it, leading to a range of potential therapeutic effects.

We are proudly based in Canada. We also ship to USA.

Microdosify is run by individuals who firmly believe in the transformative power of psilocybin microdosing. Having personally experienced its life-altering benefits, we are passionate about making this tool for mental wellness accessible to all. Given the nature of our business, we keep our personal identities confidential, but our commitment to you is always transparent.

At Microdosify, we prioritize ethical and sustainable business practices. We source and cultivate our mushrooms locally, employing safe and sustainable farming methods. Whenever a product isn’t locally available, we source it from trusted partners who share our commitment to ethical practices.

The World of Psilocybin

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound, primarily found in specific varieties of mushrooms, commonly known as ‘magic mushrooms’.

When consumed, psilocybin transforms into psilocin, initiating a range of mind-expanding effects, including mood, perception, and cognitive function shifts.
Recent research suggests it might offer a way to treat conditions like depression and anxiety. Plus, it can deliver a mind-expanding trip if that’s your jam. Check out our Microdosing 101 page to learn more.

Haha, not quite! Microdosing is taking small, sub-hallucinogenic doses of a psychedelic substance, in this case, psilocybin. Visit our Microdosing Guide for an in-depth look into the art and science of microdosing.

Nope, microdosing is more about the subtle vibes. It’s designed to enhance your day-to-day experience, not make you see mythical creatures! Check out our Benefits of Microdosing blog for more information on what you might experience.

There are 6 different types of dosages:

  1. Microdose (50mg – 400mg): A microdose is so low that it’s considered safe for daily use, including during work or parenting. You won’t experience hallucinations at this dosage. Microdosing is best known for enhancing mood, focus, and memory. Extensive research on microdosing benefits can be found in this study.
  1. Museum Dose (400mg – 1g): This is your social dose, giving a warm glow yet keeping you fully present and sociable. Everyone reacts differently, so test this dose in a comfortable setting before heading to a social situation. Research shows positive effects on social interaction.
  1. Common Dose (1 – 2g): This dose offers a light trip that may enhance your senses, deepen your thoughts, and provide a nice body high. Studies indicate therapeutic potential for conditions like depression at this dosage.
  1. Diver Dose (2 – 3.5 g): With a diver dose, you might experience interactive thought patterns, visual and auditory hallucinations, a diminishing ego, and a heightened sense of self. Research suggests perspective changes are common with this dose
  2. Strong Dose (3.5 – 5g): This dose should be taken with preparation and deep intention as it may lead to transcendental thoughts and out-of-body experiences. Under supervision, you may experience fractal visions, time and space distortion, and ego dissolution. This study discusses the therapeutic potential of such doses.

Heroic Dose (5+ g): A heroic dose leads to a complete dissolution of self, blinding visual hallucinations, out-of-body experiences, intense catharsis, and primordial information downloads. This dose is only recommended for experienced psychedelic users, and it should always be taken under supervision. A 2018 research paper discusses the intense experiences at such high doses.

The golden rule of microdosing is “less is more.” A common practice is the ‘one day on, two days off’ approach, but it’s crucial to find a rhythm that works for you.Check out Paul Stamets Microdosing Protocol and James Fadiman Microdosing Protocol.

While there’s no definitive answer, the current research suggests that microdosing psilocybin is generally well-tolerated. Everyone is different, and if you have any concerns, it’s a good idea to chat with us.

Protocols, Influencers, Concepts and Supporting Organizations

The most common protocol is the “Fadiman” schedule, named after James Fadiman, a well-known psychedelics researcher. It suggests taking a microdose every third day. This provides a day of noticeable effects, a day where the effects taper off, and a drug-free day before starting the cycle again.

A standout is Mark Haden, who’s been a vocal advocate for psychedelics and is the Executive Director of MAPS Canada. Also, Paul Stamets, a renowned mycologist, has been making a big impact in the world of psilocybin. Check out his TED talk on the subject.

Definitely! One concept that’s been getting attention is the idea of “flow state” – a state of hyper-focus and productivity that some people report entering while microdosing. A 2018 study published in Psychopharmacology found microdosing can induce this state

Yes, indeed! Organizations like MAPS Canada and the Canadian Psychedelic Association are doing fantastic work in promoting research into psychedelics, including psilocybin. TheraPsil is another organization doing incredible work in advocating for psilocybin therapy for end-of-life distress.

“Set and setting” is a phrase coined by Timothy Leary, referring to one’s mindset (set) and environment (setting) during a psychedelic experience. This Huffington Post article gives a deeper insight into it

COMMON CONCERNS & INQUIRIES

Well, if only it were that simple! Microdosing won’t magically transform you into Albert Einstein or Marie Curie overnight. However, it can help boost creativity, improve focus, and elevate mood, which might just make you feel a tad more genius-like!

While microdosing doesn’t typically produce psychoactive effects, we strongly advise against driving or operating heavy machinery while under the influence of psilocybin. Safety first, folks!

While some people find microdosing helpful in managing their mental health, it’s not a replacement for professional help. If you’re seeing a therapist, don’t ditch them for the mushrooms – they might take it personally.

Not necessarily. With microdosing, subtlety is the name of the game. The effects are often not immediately noticeable and might present themselves more as an ‘afterglow’ effect or slight enhancements in mood and productivity over time.
